What are the advantages of Bellows pipes over Mouth-Blown Pipes? Well, we are trying to tell you the difference between two and advantages with it.
Bagpipes which are operated through air which is delivered via means of bellows do not suffer from the effects of moisture. Pipes which are blown by mouth take an enormous amount of moisture which is carried through the breath and this means that reeds in particular can last only a very short time before they need replacing.

The bags also suffer from this excess moisture. The general result is a high maintenance instrument. Bellows blown reeds should last for a very long time provided that the reeds are treated well and not interfered with; bags should not need re-seasoning very often at all.
